In 1998 development began on a new kind of Fire Alarm Graphics system, one which could work with different manufacturers’ equipment across networks and the internet. The software was originally known as InControl Graphics.
In 2003, Ventec Systems, as we were then known, successfully patented the first distributed, network and internet connected Fire Alarm Graphics management system.
InControl Graphics, hosted on local web servers was a web-based system which solved an increasingly common issue; A common interface to manage the range of disparate Fire Alarm Systems across large sites, campuses and remote locations with efficient control and integration facilities.
Since its first release, the solution has been used across a diverse range of industries to integrate alarm management into a single tool.
Connecting hospitals across trusts, power generating stations across counties and managing large banking data centre fire alarm operations, InControl Graphics continued to develop.
Built upon decades of experience, InControl Graphics was re-branded as FireGFX and was released commercially in the 4th quarter of 2022. Re-designed to provide an out-of-the-box solution to third party fire and security companies, rather than a bespoke web engineered solution, it evolved into a powerful platform for managing alarm systems of any type.
Following the acquisition of Ventec Systems in 2024, FireGFX was merged into the Grail platform, developed by Grail Systems, and is still developed by the same team that invented network and cloud-based Fire Alarm Graphics Software all those years ago.
Due to its ability to integrate to systems other than fire, and to reflect the Grail brand, FireGFX was re-branded as Grail Graphics at the beginning of 2026. Integrating tightly with the Grail Platform, the software works in conjunction with Grail Cloud to provide a complete on-site and/or off-site solution for operating, managing, maintaining and ensuring compliance across a diverse range of connected alarm control systems.
